Find the untagged and mistagged ads before they skew a month of data
Link Console’s ad account link audit uses a free, read-only script in your Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts. Every hour it reads each live ad’s final URL, tracking template and URL suffix and checks them against your naming rules, flagging missing UTMs, values that break the rules, http links and parameters that appear twice. It never changes your ads. The audit is on Pro.
Plan: Pro. Every workspace starts with 2 months of Pro free.

What it does
- Reads final URLs, tracking templates and URL suffixes at ad, ad group, campaign and account level
- Flags ads with missing UTMs and values that break your naming rules or approved lists
- Flags http links and parameters that appear twice, a common cause of broken attribution
- Runs hourly, so a new campaign launched with the wrong tags shows up the same day
- Read-only: the script never edits an ad, budget or setting
- The script updates itself: paste it once and each run loads the latest version
- The same script also feeds Pacing Console, so one setup covers links and budgets
How it works
Copy the script
Link Console gives you a pre-filled script for Google Ads and one for Microsoft Ads. One script covers a whole manager account.
Schedule it hourly
Paste it into Scripts in each platform and schedule it to run every hour.
Review the Audit tab
Problems are grouped by type and by campaign, with the exact URL and the value that breaks the rule.
Fix at the source
Update the URL or template in the ad platform. The next hourly run confirms the fix.
Who it is for
Paid media managers
Catch the ad that went live with “Google” instead of “google” or with no UTMs at all, before it skews reporting for the month.
Marketing operations
See convention compliance in the ad accounts, not only in the links built by hand.
Agencies managing many accounts
One script in the manager account checks every client account against each client’s rules.
Does the script change my ads?
No. It only reads URLs, tracking templates and suffixes and sends them to Link Console. It cannot edit ads, budgets or settings.
Which platforms are covered?
Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. LinkedIn and Meta audits are coming once platform approvals land.
How often does it run?
Hourly when you schedule it that way, so problems in new ads show up within the hour.
Do I need Pacing Console?
No. The script works for Link Console on its own. If you also use Pacing Console, the same script feeds both.
